Mazeboard Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Mazeboard ("We," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Mazeboard apps, keyboard extension, and website (collectively "Services").

Summary
 

  • We DO NOT log what you type.

  • By default, Mazeboard apps and keyboard extension work entirely on‑device and DO NOT send keystrokes or vocabulary data to our servers.

  • “Allow Full Access” is not required for core typing. If you choose to enable it, we DO NOT transmit or store your raw keystroke data. It is only used for the optional features listed below.

  • We DO NOT sell or share your data to third-parties for cross‑context behavioral ads.


Scope

This Policy covers:

  • The Mazeboard mobile apps and keyboard extension ("Apps"), including on‑device processing; and

  • The mazeboard.ai website ("Website") and any support channels we operate (e.g., contact forms, emails, etc.).
     

Data We (Don’t) Collect

Keystrokes & content you type

  • We do not log, transmit, or store your keystrokes, text predictions, or the content you type.

  • In fields marked secure by iOS (e.g., passwords, payment info), iOS automatically uses the system keyboard. Mazeboard does not process text in those fields.
     

Device & diagnostics
By default, we do not collect device identifiers or analytics. Diagnostics are off. If you explicitly opt‑in (e.g., by sending a crash log or enabling OS‑level sharing), we may receive:

  • Diagnostics (optional): crash logs and performance data (e.g., OS version, app version, stack traces) used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
    By default, we do not collect device identifiers or analytics. If you opt‑in to share diagnostics (e.g., via iOS crash reporting):

Account & support interactions

  • In‑app feedback (optional): If you submit feedback, we receive the information you provide (e.g., your message and any contact details you include).

  • Website/contact/email (optional): If you reach out via our Website or email, we receive the information you provide for support, feedback, or inquiries. We use this only to respond and improve the Services.
     

Website cookies

  • Our Website is hosted on a third‑party platform that may set essential cookies to deliver pages and operate contact forms. If we add analytics or other non‑essential cookies, we will present a notice and obtain consent where required.

“Allow Full Access” (iOS keyboard)

Mazeboard’s core typing works fully offline without Full Access. If you choose to enable Allow Full Access, we may use a secure network connection only for optional features now or in the future, such as:

  • Checking for model or dictionary updates;

  • Syncing preferences across devices if a sign‑in is introduced;

  • Sending voluntary diagnostics you choose to share.
     

Even with Allow Full Access enabled:

  • We DO NOT transmit or store your raw keystrokes or the content you type; and

  • We DO NOT build marketing profiles based on your typing.

 
Your choice:
If you don’t enable Full Access, you can continue using the base keyboard functionality entirely offline.

How We Use Information

Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract (to provide the app/keyboard you requested);

  • Legitimate interests (e.g., to improve safety and performance), balanced against your rights; and

  • Consent (e.g., optional diagnostics, non‑essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time from the same place you gave it or by contacting us.
     

Sharing & Transfers

We DO NOT sell personal information. We may share limited information with:

  • Vendors who process data on our behalf (e.g., feedback form infrastructure, website host), bound by confidentiality and data‑protection terms;

  • Law enforcement or authorities when required by law; and

  • Successors in the event of a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

If we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required by law.

Data Retention
 

  • Keystrokes/content: not collected or stored.

  • Diagnostics: retained only as long as needed to investigate and resolve issues (default up to 24 months).

  • Support messages & feedback: retained as long as necessary to respond and maintain records (typically up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete sooner, subject to legal holds).

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and to withdraw consent.

  • California (CPRA): We do not sell or share your personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising. You may request access, deletion, or correction by contacting us.

  • EEA/UK: You may lodge a complaint with your local data‑protection authority.
     

Children’s Privacy
Mazeboard is intended for a general audience and not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us to request deletion.

Security
We use reasonable industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. We do not use tracking that responds to DNT at this time, but we limit data collection as described here and do not run cross‑context behavioral ads.

Data Deletion
If you would like us to delete information you have provided, please contact us. We will delete your data unless we are required to retain it for legal or security reasons.

Changes to this Policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will notify you in the app or request your consent.

Optional add‑ons you can enable (currently disabled)
These features are not enabled today. If we add them later, we’ll update this Policy and, where required, request consent.

Analytics (optional).
If enabled in the future, we would collect aggregated usage metrics (e.g., feature counts, session duration). We would not collect raw keystrokes or the content you type

Crash reporting (optional).
If enabled, crash reports may include device model, OS version, app version, and stack traces.

Cloud sync (optional).
If introduced with sign‑in, we may store preferences (e.g., theme, layout, custom vocabulary you explicitly add) encrypted at rest to sync across devices.
